In the midst of a mini heatwave, the unprepared gentleman may lose his cool. However with this handy guide, any man can handle whatever the indian summer throws his way.

Step one. Lather, rise, repeat…

It may seem like a no-brainer, but the modern man should wash in excess of once a day. Combine this with a vigerous de-oderising routine and you won’t just act like the man about town, you will smell like it too.

Just add water…

Stay hydrated. The modern man requires H20 to look fresh and, more to the point, retain his consciousness. Public transport is where the modern man is most at risk of dehydration (not to mention, when you dehydrate you will sweat more to cool down, that can lead to unpleasant smells (see paragraph above) and who wants to sit next to that?

Saftey goggles must be worn in extreme conditions…

Sunglasses are a must to protect your eyes in sunny conditions. Not to mention they look cool! Don’t wear them inside however, as you will not.

Manage your mane…

The heat does crazy things to hair, even to the most groomed gentleman , this can present a challenge. Use some mattifying power and some hairspray to ensure you always look your best.

Top tip : Talc.

If you decide to rock the deck shoe in the heat without socks, sprinkle some talc inside to keep your self captain of your ship.

Finally…

If out in the sun for prolonged periods of time apply sunscreen. Although a man with wrinkles can be seen aa a sign of wisdom, no gentleman wants to grow old before his time.
